Favorite New Author

Kat Richardson, author of Greywalker and Poltergeist is my favorite new author. Her urban fantasy stories are a nice change from some of the latest stuff out there and I really enjoy the down-to-earth heroine, Harper Blaine,  who isn’t afraid to share her imperfect character traits. I also appreciate the fact that her second book, Poltergeist doesn’t start with what seems to be  some of the latest formulas many continuing authors seem to favor: a prelude boring the reader to tears with a long back story, a murderer killing someone,  or a “pity the main character for having a crappy childhood to excuse their shallowness.”
